Her Perfect Guillotine Dance is a new two track single release, backed with Grey As All Fuck.
The later song is a amalgam of new and old. The music being a recording I made in 2001. It is one of a number similar sounding pieces, with a pseudo theremin synthesizer, I produced at the time while I was in Real Life. I rediscovered it recently while working on 'My Beautiful Black' EP, wrote a lyric and melody and recorded a vocal on top of it.
Knowing the inspiration I drew from - I hear it but others probably won't - Grey As All Fuck is my own mash up of The Cure's Pornography era, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen and The Prodigy. An arbitrary mix of each rendered through my own creative biases. Add to this my interest at that time with Clara Rockmore, the 1930s theremin virtuoso. The music composition originally had the working title of Clara's Club Theme, a version of which you which you can find on my Bandcamp album, ‘Volume ONE’.
Her Perfect Guillotine Dance is stamped with the same time era as ‘Grey As All Fuck’, recorded a couple of decades ago and continuing the theremin club theme. I wrote and recorded the vocal together with that track. The title is a reference to 'Gallowdance', the Lebanon Hanover song. It went from there.
