The Curse of Love : a beloved album I've just discovered

Album artwork photoThe Coral are a British band hailing from The Wirral [just south of Liverpool] whose major activity was in the 2000's. I discovered them by chance via Marty Willson-Piper's blog and I'm grateful to him for another cherished find.

The album I am featuring 'The Curse of Love' is a unique blend of British indie-pop, 60s psychedelia, folksy undertones, lyrical fantasy, spaghetti western soundtracks, melodic vocal and guitar lines ala 'The Cure' and at times the voice of Jim Morrison seems to inhabit lead singer James Skelly.

The album was recorded in 2005 but belatedly released in 2014. I've had it on Spotify repeat all day. If you like well crafted songs that collectively take you to another place in your mind, I invite you to 'The Curse of Love'.

Some of my fave songs at the moment are...
