New Alien Skin music in preparation

New Alien Skin Music In The Works

George with keyboardMusically, it continues to be a busy year for me. Actually the busiest since my Real Life days.

'Ghost In The Rain' my third Alien Skin album was released in late February 2012, but an over abundance of new songs is compelling me to complete a follow up album sooner rather than later. Most of the new tracks are complete & I hope to have it released this year.

But also fighting for equal time is an '80s project that I wish to complete. Quite a number of songs I wrote in the 80s and performed live with my then band Strange Silence were never recorded for release. I have chosen a few of these and am in the process of reconstructing them, retaining their 80s aesthetics & appeal. It's my intention to at least issue an Extended Play (EP) of a select few. It's been quite a few years since I had anything to do with these songs and the era they were created in, and so it's quite exciting for me to revisit them and breathe life into them again.

These two major works are also being joined by a special collaborative project with French singer, RoBERT. We are in the process of writing and recording an album's worth of songs for release probably in the new year. This is going to be another exciting and very different work, challenging but also ultimately fulfilling. RoBERT is an amazing artist and singer with over 20 years history in the French music scene. I must say that our 2 voices work quite well together, and she's a lovely person too:)

Another release I am working on is with Steve Kilbey, singer/song writer with Australian music icons 'The Church' (Under The Milkyway). In 2009 I remixed Hear In Noiseville, a song he wrote with American producer 'Pocket.' Being a long time fan of Kilbey's work for over 30 years, it is an honour for me to collaborate on a newly co-written song with him, Summer Of Love, with possibly more come.

It's difficult to balance all the musical activity and I often feel as if time just slips by without me noticing, but I look forward to completing all these projects. Some will be finished in the current year, others more probably in 2013. They will all see commercial release. I will announce each when release dates draw closer.
