Happy Christmas Save the Last Dance for Me!

My Special Alien Skin Christmas Single Release For 2015!

Christmas is such a familiar marker on our annual life calendar. To some, a highlight of the year for so many varied personal & family reasons, a time of reflection, happiness, sadness, gratitude and loneliness. For me, to commemorate the end of another season of life, I worked on a special tune that I've loved, well since forever.

Save the Last Dance for Me was a single first made hugely popular by The Drifters in 1960. Written by Shuman & Pomus, it was a lyric Doc Pomus wrote at his wedding & directed at his lovely new bride. Pomus, being unable to walk as he was struck with polio from childhood and now wheel chair bound, was encouraging his wife to dance & have fun with their guests, adding "but don't forget who's taking you home and in whose arms you're going to be, darling save the last dance for me".

It's always had such an inspirational, emotional pull for me, with a gorgeous melody and lyric. For my Alien Skin version I've twisted, turned, droned and electrified it through mains-powered tambouras and space machines. This is a brand new, tweaked, gently fried and remastered version not previously available.

Save the Last Dance for Me is available from iTunes, Bandcamp, Cdbaby and everywhere else. Listen to it below.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND SEASONS GREETINGS TO EVERYONE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!
